CLASS OF 1992 HOMECOMING 2007

We decided to make our 15-Year High School Reunion coordinate with the events of MCHS Homecoming 2007. We feel the true meaning of Homecoming involves Alumni, and we hope to begin a new tradition in Massac County from now on. I hope to make the Homecoming activities an annual thing for not only the local classmates from the Class of 1992 but for all the Alumni classes of MCHS.
We began the 15-Year Reunion/Homecoming festivities by having a Truck in the Homecoming Parade. Tom Walters was the driver of the "51 Dale" which is Mendy's dad's truck. Besides Tom, Lori Smith Rottmann, two of Lori's kids Ethan and Ellie, Mendy Wright Harris, Brandon Phillips, Chasidy Heflin Farmer, and one of Chasidy's kids Noah were aboard the Class of 1992 Truck. We threw out LOTS of candy and sprayed silly string...I don't know who had more fun with the silly string...Ethan Rottmann (Lori's 5-year old son) or Tom Walters (Lori's 33-year old cousin)! haha Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from the parade because I was too busy trying to keep the silly string off my dad's truck. We had a GREAT time at the parade. We saw several other classmates who were either a part of other floats for their kids or out in the crowd catching candy for their kids. Hopefully next year more people will join us in the parade.

From the parade, we gathered at the high school for the Homecoming game. We were fortunate to borrow a couple of tents/canopies to set up in the end zone to mark our spot at the Homecoming football game. We used the same four posters that we used in the parade as our decorations for the tents so people would know who we were and what we were doing there.
The classmates that attended the End Zone Reunion were Ann Arnold Kotter, Brandon Barnhill, Craig Bradford, Heather Burnham, Shawn Cannamore, Clay Childers, Duane Edwards, Karen Godfrey Bremer, Chad Harris, Chasidy Heflin Farmer, Matt Holley, Kelly Hostmeyer Jacobs, Nathan Joyce, Amber Legereit Cissell, Brandon Phillips, Joanne Reed Oshel, John Schneider, Lori Smith Rottmann, Ashley Souders Thompson, John Sparks, Miranda Stegman Groh, Stacey Sullivan Busclas, Glen Thompson, Tom Walters, Rachel Williams Hannah, Tammie Wiseman Obermark, Justin Wolfe, and myself Mendy Wright Harris.
This is my husband Tony hanging out after getting all the tents and chairs set up.
This is Brandon Barnhill and his kids Natalie (4 years old) and Reese (2 years old). Brandon and his wife Renee Stivers Barnhill have been married for 9 1/2 years. Brandon lives in Paducah and is a Captain with the Paducah Police Department.
And talk about a blast from the past...ok everyone...think back to our high school guidance counselors...do you recognize the gentleman on the left? Yes...it's Mr. Clifford Anderson!!! He retired in 1990, but we were able to have him for a couple of years at least.
It was great to see you, Mr. Anderson! Thank you for visiting with us at the game!
This is Thelma Ann Arnold Kotter and her kids. She always went by Ann in school. Ann has been married to Chuck Kotter for 14 years. Their kids are Daniel (14 years), Courtney (10 years), Alyssa (almost 7 years), and John (almost 5 years). She was pregnant with John at our last reunion. Ann lives in Vienna and is the midnight desk clerk at the Limited Inn in Vienna. Massac Varsity Team has just finished warming up before the game against the Olney Tigers.
The MCHS Patriots came bursting through the Wall of Paper to host the Olney Tigers.
Go Band and Go Team!
This is Joanne Reed Oshel along with her husband Erick and her gorgeous son Wesley (16 months). Joanne and and Erick live in Metropolis and have been married for 3 years.
Galen Stegman (Miranda Stegman Groh's dad) is hanging out at the tents along with Roy and Dewey
Duane Edwards and his wife Joanna were just married in August of this year. He was brave enough to bring her around all his crazy classmates so soon after being newlyweds. Duane works for Harrah's in Metropolis, but they live in Paducah.
I apologize for the blurriness of some of these pictures. I realized I had it on the night setting which has a really slow shutter speed. I wasn't able to fix it until Saturday night, so there are several I will haev to apologize for.
GOSSIP!!!!! Some things never change!
And everyone remembers the 5-foot club from high school. The only problem is that they are still the 5-foot club 15-years later. Yes, this is Miranda Stegman Groh and Rachel Williams Hannah. Miranda lives in Marion with her husband David of 7 years and her two daughters Demi (5 years) and McKali (2 years). And yes, Miranda is wearing her Senior Sweatshirt from the Sadie Hawkins Dance our Senior year. Ironically enough, Rachel has two sons the EXACT same ages as Miranda's daughters. Wil is 5 years and Lukas is 2 years. Miranda was pregnant with Demi and Rachel pregnant with Wil at our last reunion. Rachel lives with her husband of 7 years Robbie in Unionville, and she works for Verizon Wireless in Paducah. Just a side note, I work for Verizon Wireless as well in Rachel's old position. She called me to apply for it when she was taking the position she's in now. So between Rachel managing the two corporate owned stores in Paducah (Corner of Hinkleville Road next to Michelson's and the one inside Circuit City) and my managing the Indirect Sales Locations in Western Kentucky including Best Buy (1), Wal-Marts (8), and Authorized Agent locations (17), we can take care of all your Verizon Wireless needs! CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
Nathan Joyce could ALWAYS sense a camera and would pose accordingly. Again, some things never change! He is with (from Left to Right) Brandon Phillips, Chad Harris, and his wife Crystal in this picture. Nathan and his wife Crystal have been married for 11 years. They just moved back to the area two weeks ago when he became the Senior Pastor at Heartland Worship Center in Paducah. They have 3 kids Emma (8 years), Elise (3 years), and Evan (9 months). Brandon lives in Unionville and runs his own farm. He has two boys named Brady (7 years) and Brennan (will be 3 in January). Chad lives in Paducah with his wife and his 9 year old daughter.
Ok guys...you can all pose...
This is Clay Childers and his wife. They live in Metropolis, and Clay is a fire fighter for the City of Metropolis.
Lori Smith Rottmann in the red, Amber Legereit Cissell in front of her, and Kelly Hostmeyer Jacobs in the gray shirt watching the game.
Kelly Hostmeyer Jacobs talking to Lori Smith Rottmann. Kelly is married to Mike Jacobs and lives in Metropolis. She has a son named Drew who is 2 years old and two stepsons. Lori married Russ Rottmann and they have three kids Emily (8 years), Ethan (5 years), and Ellie (18 months). They live in Metropolis as well. Lori gave birth to Ethan 2 days before our reunion in 2002 and still made it to the event. What a champ!!!
Wow...between Nathan Joyce and Lori Rottmann, we have a lot of kid's names that start with "E"...Emma, Emily, Ethan, Elise, Ellie, and Evan. Chad Harris is in the back, and Tammie Wiseman Obermark is to Lori's back in the gray hooded sweatshirt talking to Brandon Barnhill.
OK...apparently I make the full circle with my camera...Hi, Tammie and Brandon! Tammie is married to JT Obermark and has a son named Wyatt. Tammie is the manager of the Massac County Farm Bureau.
Sorry for the blurs again...Miranda and Amber (Former co-captains of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad 15 years ago) realizing the cheerleaders still do most of the same cheers...and still don't know the words to the MCHS School Song except for the Chi-Cha-Cha-Ha-Ha...
Amber married Clay Cissell 10 years ago. She is a 2nd grade teacher at Metropolis Elementary School. She has 3 kids...Bailey (7 years), Brady (3 years), and Brooke (15 months).
John Schneider, his girlfriend Orleta, and Chasidy Heflin Farmer. John is an attorney and has his own firm Cape Girardeau with a partnet called Johnson and Schneider. Chasidy lives in Metropolis with her husband Jayson Farmer who she has been married to for 5 years. She has three and a half kids...Noah (9 years), Reece (4 years), and Olivia (2 years). She is expecting her 4th in the spring of 2008. She is a dental hygientist.
John and Orleta...sorry again for the blurriness!
There...that's a better picture! Along with Chasidy, John, and Orleta, we have added Tom Walters to the mix. Tom lives in Metropolis and just started working for Harrah's.
From left to right...Ann Arnold Kotter and her daughter, Miranda Stegman Groh and her youngest daugther McKali, Miranda's little brother Mitchell (12 years) in the blue sweatshirt holding her oldest daughter Demi, Amber Legereit Cissell behind Mitchell, Kelly, Lori, and Lori's son Ethan.
There's Uncle Mitchell Stegman (Miranda's little brother) with Demi and McKali Groh (Miranda's daughters).
I left this one in there only because it shows what happens when you are trying to take a picture standing in the back of the end zone at a football game and you begin to hear football players getting really close to you and the crowd screaming. I was snapping the picture when I got startled by the sound of heavy running right behind me. I tried to get out of the way as quickly as I could being injured.
Once again blurry...but this is Amber and her youngest daughter Brooke.
Shawn Cannamore and his wife Carol live in Paducah.
John Sparks and Craig Bradford catching up in the end zone.
John is the Basketball Coach at Shawnee College. He and his wife have a 3 year old daughter Dorian and a 6 week old daughter Camille. Craig lives locally as well. Can you believe the hair on Craig??? It looks great!!!
Miranda and Stacey Sullivan Busclas...old clarinet pals from the band. Stacey is a student and has been married to Paul Busclas for 10 years. Stacey has 3 sons...Michael (15 years), Andrew (9 years), and Christopher (7 years). Her son Michael is a sophmore at Massac...now we ALL feel really old! haha

Ok...tilt your head all the way to the left...Miranda took this one, and she took it long ways. This is me and my nephew Daniel (14 years). He is the Massac Freshman and JV Quarterback. He is on the Varsity team as well, and he stopped by our tent after the game to get a picture with his aunt. :) Massac won the Homecoming game 56-13. That made their record this year 7-2 and gave them a Playoff berth. They are a #5 seed and will play the #4 seed Mascoutah (8-2).
The Football game was also Senior night and all the seniors in all the Fall Sports/Activities were recognized. Coronation was a halftime of the game. The new Homecoming Queen for 2007 was Kristina Dye.
From the ballgame, the group headed to what we will always call Fast Eddie's which is now Willy Jak's in Metropolis. Several classmates met us here that were unable to attend the game. Those who joined us late were Janice Waynick Miller and her husband Pat, Jamie Kerley, Matt Holley, Mark Cooper, Kimberly Comer Jackson, and Shanda Ray Umberger. At table three in the picture below we have (From L to R) my husband Tony Harris, Pat Miller (Janice Waynick Miller's husband), Miranda Stegman Groh, Shawn Cannamore, Shawn's wife Carol who you can't see because she is behind him, Duane Edwards, Duane's wife Joanna who you can't see between him and Janice, and Janice Waynick Miller. Janice and Pat have been married for 9 years. They live in Kevil and have two sons Nick (11 years) and Bode (18 months). And yes that is Bode (Bo-dee) Bode Miller!

Table two consisted of (From L to R) Orleta, John Schneider, Matt Holley, Brandon Phillips, Jamie Kerley, Chad Harris, and Brandon Barnhill.
Finally, table one consisted of Tom Walters, Shanda Ray Umberger, Kimberly Comer Jackson, and Mark Cooper. Craig Bradford showed up as well but we apparently didn't take any more pictures.
Another BLUR outside of Fast Eddie's...Miranda and Jamie
We went from Fast Eddie's to a place called Ernie's in Paducah. They were having Karaoke, and we had few classmates that wanted to sing. The ones from our class that joined us at Ernie's were Richard Warfield, Miranda Stegman Groh, Jamie Kerley, Mendy Wright Harris, Tom Walters, Mark Cooper, Shanda Ray Umberger, Kimberly Comer Jackson, Brandon Phillips, Matt Holley, Janice Waynick Miller, and Duane Edwards.
There...that's a better picture of Miranda and Jamie.
Kimberly Comer Jackson, Shanda Ray Umberger, Brandon Phillips, and Matt Holley. Kimberly is as funny as ever. She lives and works in Paducah. Shanda is married to Michael Umberger and she works for Countrywide Mortgage. She has two daughters. Matt has a 13 year old son and he works in Marion, IL.
Tom Walters after his first song "Sweet Home Chicago"
Tom posing with Janice Waynick Miller...as a matter of fact, I think that was right in front of Janice's husband. But we have learned this weekend that Tom is famous for things like that.
Duane Edwards and his wife Joanna having a great time! Duane sang Johnny B. Goode!!!
Miranda waiting in line for the restroom at Ernie's.
Jamie and Kim...they refused to sing!
Kim and Shanda...don't they look great!?!?
This is me and my husband Tony. We didn't sing either!
Pat and Janice Waynick Miller...and they didn't sing either.
Mendy Wright Harris and Miranda Stegman Groh having a great time...just getting very very sleepy, but little did we know sleep wouldn't happen for still many hours from then.
Tom Walters singing "House of the Rising Sun"
Jamie and Mendy
On Saturday at noon, we had a picnic for the families at Dorothy Miller Park. The Park is absolutely beautiful, although we were surprised that the reserved it for us but didn't unlock the restrooms. (haha) The classmates in attendance at the picnic were Ann Arnold Kotter, Brad Davis, Kelly Hostmeyer Jacobs, Amber Legereit Cissell, Joanne Reed Oshel, Lori Smith Rottmann, Miranda Stegman Groh, Tom Walters, and Mendy Wright Harris. Families brought their own lunches and changes of clothes for their kids as their favorite thing to do was play in the mud and water puddles. I had misplaced my camera the night before, so I wasn't able to take any pictures from the picnic.

These are some pictures from Kimberly Comer Jackson's apartment this weekend. This blurry one is Miranda and Matt Holley.
I finally figured out how to fix my camera. My husband Tony had to pose for me to test it. NO MORE BLURS!!!
Matt Holley aka Matt Hollywood
From L to R: Matt Holley, Miranda Stegman Groh, Jamie Kerley, Kimberly Comer Jackson, Tom Walters, Brandon Phillips, and Mendy Wright Harris
Our events of the weekend concluded at Heartland Worship Center in Paducah where Nathan Joyce is the new Senior Pastor. This was just his second Sunday there. Those classmates in attendance were John Sparks, Lori Smith Rottmann, Mendy Wright Harris, Nathan Harris, Nathan Joyce (obviously), and Matt Holley.

Here is John with his newest addition to his family...his 6 week old daughter Camille.
Isn't she precious???
What a doll...does she look like her daddy at all???
John Sparks with his wife and youngest daughter, Lori Smith Rottmann and two of her kids Ethan and Emily, and Nathan Harris and his wife Lori Schnieder Harris
Lori, Emily, Mendy, Nathan, and John
