Tate was proving to be a good father before Laney was even born. He had to try on her sunglasses to make sure they were good enough for her. Doesn't he look cute in them?

I went up before Laney was born to see her nursery. Everything was decorated very cute! Sam, Lila, and Sweet Pea loved the nursery, but they just wanted to make sure they still had their mommy's attention. As I was taking pictures in the nursery of the walls and furniture, Sam wanted me to take a picture of him. So he sat up and it was hilarious!!!

Ok...now picture this...it is July 3rd, 2007...JULY...you know...SUMMER, right? So, Meagan, Michele, and I went downstairs to get something to drink. I got a Diet Mt. Dew, and Meagan got a Hot Chocolate.After looking over the options, Michele decided Hot Chocolate worked best for her, too! This is definitely a classic picture of my sisters!

We were all sitting in the waiting room...Dale, Jan, Michele, Mendy, Meagan, Pam, Stormy, Jennifer, Pete, his girlfriend, and I can't remember who else. Tate took a picture message of Laney when she was born and sent it to all our cell phones. When we got it, we all evacuated the waiting room and started hovering around the nursery window. It was about 45 minutes before Tate appeared with his brand new daughter.

FINALLY Tate enters the nursery with Laney Parker Wright. Laney decided after all she wanted to be born on her Uncle Pete's birthday afterall...July 3rd.

We just all stared in amazement! Luckily she was in the corner of the nursery where it was nothing but windows. Between all of us, we covered the entire window area. We just couldn't get enough pictures of her.

Tate looks as if he is keeping a pretty strict eye on those nurses to make sure they don't hurt his baby! There is such a deep look of love and pride in a father's eyes as he watches his family see his daughter for the first time. Laney passes all of her tests with flying colors.
Look at that smile...If you were to ask him what he was thinking right then, he would probably say what I hear from a lot of new parents which is that he never thought he could love someone so much!

Laney is wanting to get back to her mommy. She is hungry and is having to try eating on her fingers.Look at those cute little toes!

Just a few more tests, Laney...Now, I haven't ever seen any pictures of Rachel when she was a baby, however I have seen pictures of Tate as a baby. And from what I can tell, Laney is looking a LOT like her daddy!

Daniel's First High School Football Game

Daniel's first game of his high school career. They played Vienna on Sat. Aug. 25th at 10am. Daniel's team (Massac County Patriots) won 20-14. We scored two offensive touchdowns and one defensive touchdown. The two offensive ones were by Daniel running it in, and the defensive one was an interception by Tyler Lee. It was a great game!

So many family members were there to support Daniel. Those present were Michele, Damon, Mendy, Meagan, Ed, Molly, Jan, Charlotte, Carol, Tim, Becky, Sami, and JT. Molly would say "Go, Daniel, Go Go Go!" And she didn't like when Massac would get tackled - especially Daniel - because she thought they were hurt and crying.
